I am trying to set up a great place for me and my friends to hang out in my basement, and I am on a tight budget. It is a fairly large and unfinished basement with cement floors. I have numerous random chairs and some one-seater couches, a coffee table, some shelving, and other random things. Decoration.. just any decorative items I can find… I’m not looking to go fancy but rather laid-back/cool/fun, etc. My style is pretty versatile- I’m a huge Bears, Blackhawks, and White Sox fan, I like all kinds of music ex Incubus, DMB, Bob Marley, Pretty Lights, Citizen Cope, etc. The only colors I don’t like for decorating are red or orange. I want to paint the walls in the bathroom of my home, and i had to remove these ugly particle board decorative panels from the walls. They were glued on, and the glue is all over the walls. I know i could sand it to get it off but, ugh…. but does anyone know of an easier way to get this stuff off?

I am just looking for an inexpensive Bob Ross picture/print because I like how they look, but I cannot find them on ebay or art.com. I am not by any means, looking to purchase an original Bob Ross painting. With a low budget I just want decorative wall art that is either by Bob Ross, or by any artist who produces very similar artwork. Does anybody have any advice for me? Thanks

Hello. I am having trouble finding an appropriate color for my dining room.

I am looking for something light enough that won’t make the tiny dining room feel smaller than it already is, but dark enough to accentuate white decorative moldings (baseboard, doorway, and center horizontal molding splitting the wall).

The couches in the adjacent living room are a sage color, as are the slipcovers on the chairs in the dining room itself. The table and china cabinets are light wood, and the china cabinet has glass doors which are a very light frosty green color.

I am looking for something that would work with these situations but also be neutral to potential buyers (will be putting the condo on the market soon). I tried painting the room with Plantation Moss (either Olympic or Valspar, can’t remember), but it didn’t offer much contrast with the molding and was also too green which I don’t think will appeal to buyers.

I’m trying to find a hue that is sort of beigish-greenish…

Oh, and the kitchen which is also adjacent is painted blue.

Please help. Pictures would be great. I find it very hard to visualize with little square paint chips!

These are sheetrock walls that already had texture and paint on them, there was a thick layer of the decorative texture put on and then painted over. The texture would have came off fine if some one hadn’t painted it. It is hideous, I have tried sanding and scraping. I was afraid a chemical might seep into the wall. Do I have any other options besides tearing out the sheetrock? The reason I want to remove it is because the texture is just smeared in places. The person that did it didn’t try to make a design with the texture it just looks like they smeared it around with their hands and hoped it would look better painted.
